What to Expect

The Apprenticeship Programme is designed to help those with no experience of working in finance and provide the opportunity to embark on a structured learning journey resulting in a professional qualification. If you have a strong work ethic, are intellectually curious, and work well in a team, you will love working for us.

As a part of our two year Apprenticeship programme you will be studying towards a Level 6 Financial Services Professional - Associated Chartered Banker Diploma

CASP is part of the Structured Trade Finance & Export Sales team within the Commodity and Structured Trade Finance (“CSTF”) department. CASP supports origination officers during all stages of a deal, from marketing to business screening, credit, documentation and portfolio management.

Structured Trade Finance (“STF”) involves the provision of finance to commodity producers and traders arranged around the proceeds of commodity exports or inventories.

Export Sales (“ES”) provides working capital solutions to commodity traders via receivable discounting and letters of credit.

As a member of CASP, you will

  • Provide support and shadow STF origination officers in their origination / marketing activities with clients of the banks, prospects and on pipeline transactions.
  • Be responsible for the deal screening and credit write ups for STF transactions, alongside fellow CASP members and STF origination officers
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of an assigned portfolio of closed deals across STF, in association with the relevant STF originators and relationship managers.
  • Contribute to the progress of our business strategy and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support to ES and the wider CSTF on structuring, portfolio and credit tasks as the need arises
  • Support head of CASP and assist CASP team members as required

  • Minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels (or equivalent) including minimum grade of 6/B in Maths or Physic to be eligible to apply.
