Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. As soon as an employee enters a customer facility, they touch one of these applications which are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more. Come join our diverse and growing team with lots of opportunities!

As a Section 508 Accessibility Tester, you will combine technical expertise and mission understanding to ensure that all digital assets, enterprise documentation, and communication materials comply with federal accessibility standards. You will play a key role in supporting the design, testing, and deployment of an enterprise-level financial and resource management system—ensuring it is fully accessible to individuals with disabilities who rely on assistive technologies.

This position requires a highly detail-oriented professional capable of performing accessibility evaluations, remediation, documentation, and collaboration with technical teams, program management, and government leadership to maintain 508 compliance across all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform proficient Section 508 evaluation, testing, and remediation of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents, as well as digital products and enterprise system outputs.

  • Collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure all communication and system-generated products meet accessibility standards in alignment with the OIT brand system, VA policies, and Section 508 requirements.

  • Conduct accessibility testing of system content, communication products, and deliverables prior to public release or internal posting.

  • Support enterprise-system development and deployment by validating that user interfaces, forms, reports, and dashboards comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements.

  • Work with the technical and program management teams to prepare schedule inputs, communicate dependencies, risks, and progress toward accessibility milestones.

  • Participate in testing solutions to validate their functionality, accessibility, and compatibility with assistive technologies.

  • Perform quality-control reviews of deliverables for accessibility compliance; document findings and remediation steps.

  • Utilize industry-standard 508 testing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro, ANDI, JAWS/NVDA screen readers, Microsoft Accessibility Checker) to identify and correct document-structure errors, heading hierarchy, reading order, image alt text, tables, charts, and form fields.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), accessibility checklists, and Confluence/Jira documentation to support tracking, testing, and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure accessibility is embedded throughout the system lifecycle, not treated as a post-production activity.

  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, WCAG 2.1 standards, and related VA accessibility policies.

  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to program teams and leadership regarding accessibility best practices, exceptions, and risk mitigation.

  • Offer training or support to internal teams and end-users to improve accessibility awareness and resolve 508-related issues effectively.

  • Maintain strict adherence to security and privacy standards, ensuring accessible solutions also meet data-protection requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and seven (7) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Twelve (12) years’ SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Willingness to learn and develop strong understanding new technologies and products.
  • Experience developing and updating technical documentation including project schedules.
  • Experience with requirements management to include working with customers to capture clear definition of done.
