We are seeking a competitive and highly motivated Sales Engineer to expand our team. The Industrial Refrigeration Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients within the food and beverage industry. The successful candidate will leverage technical expertise in refrigeration systems to provide tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of clients, while working closely with the design and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution. This is a client-facing role that requires a strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems, market trends, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical decision-makers. The position reports directly to the VP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve the customer’s needs through prompt, thorough and professional service.
  • Support the company’s sales efforts in both construction and service. Work directly with sales department personnel to develop projects, project design/drawings, cost estimates, and proposal letters for presentation to customers.
  • Conduct site visits to assess client needs and propose appropriate refrigeration solutions.
  •  Utilize the Kelvin Estimating Template or current estimating platform for all cost estimating. Adhere to all Deal Desk/Deal Scoring criteria set forth by Kelvin Group. 
  • Utilize Salesforce (CRM) software in a disciplined manner to enable Kelvin-wide visibility of sales performance.
  • Participate and attend the Sales Meetings, seminars or training sessions as directed by RD&S management.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Candidate must have a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent. A Professional Engineering certification (PE) or EIT certification is a plus. The individual should have strong technical and mechanical knowledge of industrial or commercial refrigeration systems, including ammonia, freon, or CO2 systems. The individual should also possess problem solving skills to identify client refrigeration issues and convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships with clients. 
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and complete work while traveling. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
