A Day in the Life

As a Sr. Business Process Improvement Analyst, your role is key in driving operational excellence by analyzing, designing, and optimizing business processes across the organization. You will collaborate cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities, implement best practices, and ensure sustainable change. You will lead and facilitate process improvement activities using continuous improvement methodologies. In this role you will provide strategic guidance and direction in the absence of leadership, leveraging functional expertise to support decision-making and maintain momentum on initiatives. This role requires you to perform as subject matter experts for critical business requirements and process quality guidelines to ensure proper registration of product complaints from internal diabetes employees. Your expertise will help Medtronic achieve greater efficiency, quality, and value for our global stakeholders.

  • Gather and recommend process and system change requirements related to workflow enhancements, program pilots, new products, and overall customer experience improvements.

  • Provide oversight and governance for workflow processes throughout the review and approval lifecycle of change submissions.

  • Utilize critical thinking and analysis tools to clarify information, identify root causes, and provide solutions or alternative recommendations to drive timely and effective process improvements.

  • Develop, align, and maintain detailed documentation and process maps for business processes and workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to review, design, and optimize business processes in support of organizational objectives.

  • Evaluate internal processes for compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

  • Gather business requirements and support system and process deployments to ensure solutions meet business needs and compliance standards.

  • Prepare and document business cases, progress updates, and recommendations to support sustaining or new initiatives.

  • Facilitate, monitor, and report on assigned process improvement workstreams, ensuring cross-functional alignment and progress toward objectives.

  • Create and update processes based on new project and clinical study information to support technical support workflow development.

  • Communicate research findings, status updates, and actions clearly, including support for escalated and unique situations.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and communicate the success of implemented changes.

  • Provide functional expertise to train and support teams on new processes, improvement tools, and best practices.

  • Maintain specialized knowledge and skills to oversee assigned initiatives from design through implementation.

  • Review technical literature to support new and existing product evaluations and post-market activities.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues and direct the work of other professionals as needed.

  • Lead and participate in new product development activities from launch readiness through commercial release.

  • Planning and coordination of CAPA related projects, including triage, investigation, issue reports and remediation  activities.

  • Support internal and external audit requests related to functional process expertise.

  • Participate in ongoing learning and execute special projects or other duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field and of 4+ years experience in business process improvement, operations analysis, or a similar role.

OR

Advanced Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field and of 2+ years experience in business process improvement, operations analysis, or a similar role.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience leading projects in the medical device, healthcare, or regulated industry.

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.).

  • Salesforce development and administration experience

  • Change management and project management experience (PMP certification a plus).

  • Technical writing experience

  • Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) related experience

  • Experience with development of system and user interface requirements

  • Experience with use of JIRA or other ticketing systems

  • Extensive knowledge of Medtronic systems, products and therapies

  • Flexibility to schedule change to meet business needs, inclusive of days and hours

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with process mapping and documentation tools.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (Green Belt/Black Belt certification preferred).

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and execute projects efficiently and on time.

  • Ability to observe program and system deficiencies, create an improvement plan.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and delivering measurable results.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$86,400.00 - $129,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
