Technical Field Services Specialist bei Astro Pak

Astro Pak is the nation's leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems, as well as precision cleaning of components and hardware at the company’s Cleanroom facilities. Astro Pak provides services to over 15 sectors including: Data Centers, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Semiconductor, and other selected Industrial markets. The Technical Field Services Specialist will serve as a technical subject matter expert while assisting the Senior Operations Manager (OM) with aspects of the location’s business operation, including managing its profit and loss, personnel, scheduling, compliance and permitting, equipment and inventory, project resourcing and logistics.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Technical Expertise and Shop Support

• Blend the liquid cleaning and passivation chemical concentrates. Prepare the associated certificates of analysis, labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all blended chemicals.
• Manage all chemical inventory for the location.
• Supervise all work performed at the location and ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Perform weekly hazardous waste inspections.
• Perform quality visual inspections of applicable shop jobs and log them in EHS Insight.
• Participate in Safety and Field Quality meetings and investigations.

Operational Leadership Support

• Confer with the Senior OM for personnel and equipment needed to conduct field projects.
• Assist Sales in performing job walks or coordinating PLs at job walks, as required.
• Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes as appropriate.
• Locate, procure, and arrange for the delivery of chemicals to out-of-area job sites. 
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees.
• Strengthen relationships with clients and deliver excellent customer service. 
• Serve as backup and cover operational responsibilities of Senior OM when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by direct manager.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S) from a four-year college or university preferred.
• HAZWOPER, Confined Space Certifications are preferred.

Related Experience:

• 12 plus years related experience, formal training and/or education
• Proven ability to plan, lead and organize in a dynamic multi-functional work environment 
• Proven success in supervising, coaching and developing others 
• Familiarity in Chemical, Water-Treatment, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Aerospace industries concepts 
• Analytical skills and mechanical ability to assist in solving technical and equipment problems in the field 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• HAZWOPER, Bio/Pharma Certificates a plus
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
• Noisy conditions periodically
• Wet or humid conditions (indoors)
• Working on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc.
• Exposed to vibration (i.e. operating jackhammer, impact wrench)
• Periodically improperly illuminated or awkward and confining work space

Salary & Benefits

• The pay for this position has a base salary of $130,000-$140,000. The actual pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
