Senior Manager of Data Engineering
$139,267 - $172,691 / year minimum starting pay
Job Level: Manager
Location: Columbia, Missouri (On-site, Full-time)
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. What You Will Be Doing:
The Senior Manager of Data Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the data engineering and operations functions. Play a critical role in driving the development and maintenance of data infrastructure, ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of data systems, and leading a team of data engineers and operations personnel.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in data engineering, data operations, or a related field, with progressively increasing responsibilities typically required.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Extensive experience with data engineering technologies and tools, such as ETL/ELT frameworks, data pipelines, and data integration platforms. (eg : Qlik, Snowflake etc)
- Knowledge of dbtLabs, Astronomer, Github, Reltio, Qlik Replicate is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of data management principles, including data modeling, database design, and data governance.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing data infrastructure in the cloud.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex data engineering challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
