WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY
As the Manager Mortgage Loan Operations, you will be responsible for leading, planning, directing, organizing, and controlling the activities of mortgage operations which includes the Processing and Closing Teams. Accountable for the development, implementation, ongoing review, and continuous improvement of the real estate lending operations. Will build relationships with senior and front-line management as well as provide leadership and facilitate delivery of all mortgage support for stakeholders. Implements and oversees solutions on a variety of loan origination issues from Processing, Underwriting and Closing Teams. Exercise independent judgment and decision-making which could have a substantial impact on the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all First Mortgage Loans are in compliance with all Federal and State regulations, including but not limited to; (RESPA, HMDA, Financial Fair Housing Act, ATR/QM, FCRA, ECOA, TILA, etc.) and thus requires a complete working knowledge related to real estate transactions, mortgage processing, underwriting and delivery to FNMA and FHLBI standards and secondary market operations. Provide professional support to the Manager Mortgage Servicing through mentoring and guidance to include, but not limited to, issues related to the mortgage servicing system platform, default/loss mitigation, secondary market servicing, regulatory compliance, and audits.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
40% Identify areas to increase revenue, improve productivity and manage the profitability of the mortgage operations teams. Develop and implement plans impacting the operational infrastructure to meet the company's growth and profitability objectives. Ensure tactical implementation of strategic goals as developed by the Mortgage Leadership Team. Supervises the mortgage operations and servicing staff for compliance, fluid mortgage originations, and post-closing validation.
30% As the primary Administrator for Mortgage Loan Origination System (LOS), leads efforts to transform and improve loan manufacturing efficiency through implementation LOS enhancements including Business Intelligence (BI), enhancements from LOS vendor and/or outside vendor integration to reduce the cost of origination. Establishes, monitors, and reports on production activity and key performance indicators for Loan Operations.
10% Coordinates with various levels of management within the Mortgage Department to develop campaigns and programs designed to increase loan activity.
10% Maintains comprehensive knowledge of secondary market and portfolio pricing to ensure credit union product relevance, profitability, and business risk.
10% Provide leadership to Processing, Underwriting and Closing Team Leaders to delegate tasks for professional development. Mentor their development through scheduled performance feedback sessions that monitor departmental efficiency, effectiveness and performance to standards and goals.
-- Ensure all functions are in complete compliance with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations to include, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, Home Mortgage Disclosures (HMDA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Military Lending Act (MLA). Assists the Credit Union to be in compliance with all current and pending applicable rules, laws and regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience
10+ years’ mortgage operations experience, plus 5+ years leading and managing teams preferably within the financial industry.
Education / Certifications / Licenses
This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of a required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or related field. An Interview and Interrogation Certification is also required. Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site and required to renew registration annually.

- Knowledge of all mortgage loan programs, documentation requirements and rate commitments and lending policies.

- Advanced and comprehensive knowledge of all product offerings.
- Knowledge of member satisfaction reporting analyses and interpretation into actionable plans.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Credit union regulations, products, policies, procedures, and services.

Physical Requirements
- Able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
- Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
- Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
- Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
- Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
- Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
