JOB SUMMARY

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Marki Microwave you will assist in the development and delivery of leading-edge RF components, optimize machine and process efficiency; equipment maintenance and repair; equipment programming and optimization; lot setup, calibration, and troubleshooting issues. You will work directly with other engineers and technicians on developing, implementing, and supporting production equipment and processes. You will also be a key stakeholder in driving continuous improvement practices to minimize sources of waste, drive down manufacturing costs and optimize quality and efficiency in production operations. You will support production with Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).   You will work closely with other departments to address quality, cost and technology challenges and to support efficient and rapid manufacturing growth.     Work with key stakeholders throughout the organization, bringing new products efficiently and reliably to production.  This is a role for an engineer with technical knowledge of component manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach.

This role will require access to access information controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR §§ 730-780),and likely the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR §§ 120-130), and so applicants for this position must be one of a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or other Protected Individual (as defined under 8 USC § 1324b(a)(3)).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the bring-up, qualification, and hand-off of production equipment/processes 
  • Optimize machine and process efficiency through mechanical design, experimentation, & DOE.
  • Drive equipment repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration activities.
  • Utilize SPC to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
  • Integrate new tooling, fixturing, and process into an existing manufacturing line.
  • Assess the manufacturability of new products through DFM activities.
  • Establish equipment tracking systems for product specific set-up and recipes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to assist with machine/process troubleshooting.
  • Communicate with Product Engineers and Operations staff on machine/process readiness.
  • Continually improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, automated equipment, and quality standards.  
  • Write operator and technician-oriented documentation for utilizing/troubleshooting automated and manual processes.
  • Drive high yield, low cost, and efficiency through the lifecycle of the product.  
  • Establish methodologies for production test, including wafer-level and packaged integrated circuits, hybrid modules and passive devices.  
  • Assist in the ramp of new products into production efficiently and at highest quality.  
  • Design mechanical/electrical tools, fixtures, and circuitry using 2D/3D CAD 
  • Provide technical leadership in solving production quality issues.
  • Partner with design, quality, and reliability engineering teams to determine appropriate qualification testing strategies that ensure highest reliability of Marki product families in their end applications.
  • Build on established engineering practices that support lean manufacturing techniques.  
  • Promote an ethics-based business culture in the organization.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years engineering experience in an electronics production environment; Understanding of production engineering concepts is required and SMT experience is strongly preferred

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Experience with machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, waterjets, CNC’s etc. is a plus.
  • Experience with hand/power tooling is required.
  • Experience with pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical power transmission systems is required.
  • Knowledge of production automation methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience programming computer-controlled machinery is a plus.
  • 3D printing experience is a plus
  • Designing tooling/fixturing for automation or ergonomics is a plus.
  • Experience in RF component production and test a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments as needed.
  • 2D or 3D CAD experience required, AutoCad/Inventor is a plus
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) & statistical process control experience preferred
  • Excellent data analysis skills and a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Continuous improvement mindset within the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, peers, and customers.
  • Highly proficient in a Windows environment and with a recent version of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.   Matlab, Python knowledge a plus.
