Position Description
The Director of Campus Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all security operations at the United States Soccer Federation’s National Training Center. This role ensures the safety of athletes, staff, visitors, and assets while maintaining a secure and professional environment.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the National Training Center, supporting the mission and values of the United States Soccer Federation.
Primary Responsibilities
Security Operations & Risk Management
- Develop and enforce comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols for the National Training Center.
- Oversee access control, surveillance systems, and perimeter security measures.
- Conduct security risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead emergency preparedness planning, including fire safety, severe weather response, and active threat protocols.
- Coordinate security for high-profile events, training camps, and international team visits.
Personnel Management & Training
- Supervise and manage on-site security personnel, including third-party security contractors.
- Develop and conduct regular security training programs for staff, athletes, and security personnel.
- Establish a security culture by promoting awareness and best practices throughout the campus.
Incident Response & Investigations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for security incidents, coordinating response efforts with local law enforcement, emergency services, and USSF leadership.
- Investigate security breaches, threats, and other incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and prepare reports for senior leadership.
Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with the Vice President of Security, and Director of Security Operations to align security strategies with organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local security regulations, as well as USSF policies.
- Collaborate with facilities management, IT security, and event operations to ensure a holistic security approach.
Technology & Infrastructure Security
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrades of security technology, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Coordinate cybersecurity measures with IT teams to protect sensitive information and operational systems.
Work Environment & Travel
- Based at the National Training Center in Fayetteville, GA with occasional travel for security assessments, training, and USSF events.
- On-call availability for emergency situations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or military service, preferably in a campus, sports facility, or corporate environment
- Strong leadership and crisis management skills with experience handling large-scale security operations
- Knowledge of emergency response planning, risk assessment, and investigative procedures
- Familiarity with security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and cybersecurity protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and certifications as required
