Job Description:

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Mid-Level Geospatial Developer to join our team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer with strong geospatial expertise to design, build, and deploy solutions that directly impact mission success.

In this role, you will leverage your software development and geospatial knowledge to create integrated solutions using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and related technologies. You’ll work in a fast-paced, agile environment where your contributions will go from vision to production-ready systems that drive real-world impact.

Responsibilities

As a Geospatial Developer, you will:

  • Develop custom web applications using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

  • Integrate third-party APIs and libraries with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

  • Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces for geospatial applications.

  • Design and configure dashboards with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and ArcGIS Portal Dashboards.

  • Configure and customize ArcGIS Portal applications and web maps.

  • Create and maintain Story Maps and other Portal applications.

  • Collaborate with mission stakeholders to design innovative geospatial solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI

  • 3+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and a framework such as Angular, React, or Vue, including building HTML and CSS.

  • Experience with geospatial application development, particularly with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

  • Strong understanding of web application design, responsive interfaces, and user experience principles.

  • Ability to integrate APIs, libraries, and third-party tools into existing geospatial solutions.

  • DoD 8570 Compliant Certification (Security+ or CISSP) prior to contract start.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining ArcGIS Enterprise environments.

  • Proficiency in managing ArcGIS Server services and optimizing server performance.

  • Ability to create and publish geoprocessing services to ArcGIS Server.

  • Experience developing custom geoprocessing tools and automated workflows with Python/ArcPy.

  • Experience administering Portal for ArcGIS (user management, security, data store configuration).

  • Familiarity with enterprise geodatabase design, spatial data workflows, and ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript visualization libraries such as D3, Leaflet, or AG Grid.

  • Experience with Agile/Kanban development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Git, and GitHub/GitLab.

  • Understanding of information security practices.
