Dixon Ticonderoga Company is seeking an Associate Staff Accountant to join our team. Position Summary:

The Associate Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing a variety of essential tasks that contribute to accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate demonstrates a willingness to learn, communicates professionally, and is comfortable working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools. This role offers an opportunity to build foundational experience in accounting within a structured and collaborative environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Help maintain general ledger entries and monthly journal entries
  • Assist with material item setup
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with Rebate and Royalty programs
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform other administrative and accounting tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic technology skills, including familiarity with data entry, spreadsheets, and foundational Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., formulas, formatting).
  • An ability to understand and work through business processes with guidance, demonstrating curiosity and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze basic data and identify patterns or issues.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for internal and external correspondence.
  • Ability to conduct simple research and follow through on tasks to gather necessary information.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take direction and complete tasks efficiently; reliable and eager to build new skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a structured work environment.
  • Proficient use of office equipment including, but not limited to, a personal computer, phone, copy machine, and scanner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.

Requirements (Education, Professional Experience, Certification, Skills):

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar field.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Conditions:
