Position Summary
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Maintenance Department to ensure optimal asset reliability, equipment performance, and safe operations at the Memphis Manufacturing Site. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, support capital projects, and maintain systems that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Outcomes/Responsibilities
Outcome: Asset Reliability & Equipment Uptime
 
Increase production uptime and reduced unplanned downtime.  Improve equipment performance and lifecycle management and lower maintenance costs through predictive and preventive strategies.
 
Actions:
 
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize on-stream time for production and packaging equipment.
  • Lead initiatives that improve equipment reliability, incorporating lifetime expectancy and fit-for-service calculations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely and effective equipment repairs and upgrades.
 
Outcome: Maintenance Systems & Data Integrity
 
Accurate and accessible asset history and maintenance records and enhanced decision-making based on reliable data.  Improve compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
 
Actions:
  • Maintain and optimize the centralized maintenance management system for the Memphis site.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of asset design, repair history, and performance data to support decision-making and compliance.
 
Outcome: Capital Project Support
 
Successful execution of CAPEX projects with minimal disruption to operations and improve infrastructure and equipment capabilities.  Enhanced ROI on capital investments.
 
Actions:
 
  • Collaborate with CAPEX project teams to provide technical support for infrastructure and equipment improvements.
  • Lead pre-startup safety reviews, integrate S/H/E impacts into project planning, and ensure alignment with operational goals.
 
Outcome: Inventory & Procurement Management
 
Optimized spare parts inventory with reduced stockouts and overstock and improve procurement efficiency and cost control Enhanced equipment reliability through quality parts.
 
Actions:
  • Oversee the spare parts stockroom, ensuring inventory levels support production needs.
  • Manage indirect purchasing, quality control of received parts, and alignment with CAPEX requirements.
 
Outcome: Strategic Collaboration & Plant Performance
 
Increased plant capacity and throughput, reduced cost of goods sold (COGS) and improve product quality and safety performance.
 
Actions:
  • Partner with Production Manager, Asset Reliability Manager, and Director of Manufacturing to drive improvements in plant capacity, COGS, quality, and safety.
  • Identify, design, and implement utility and equipment projects that enhance operational performance.
 
Outcome: Team Development & Technical Expertise
 
Skilled and responsive maintenance workforce and reduced reliance on external contractors. Faster resolution of technical issues and improved equipment reliability.
 
Actions:
  • Maintain a well-trained maintenance staff, including electricians, pipefitters, instrumentation technicians, and mechanical repair personnel.
  • Provide technical leadership for DCS hardware, instrumentation, and controls.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Mechanical or Industrial
  • 10+ years of experience in technical services, with a strong background in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and laboratory operations
  • At least 10+ years of job-related experience
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
  • Possess strong analytical and mechanical aptitude skills, and excellent individual and team skills
  • Demonstrated agility with technology and computer systems.
