About the Department
The Temp Admin Support - PD Support Services position is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt, clerical position limited to not more than 1300 hours annually. The incumbent will provide basic clerical support to the assigned division of the police department.
This job description is an overview and is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the functions and tasks required of the position.
Position Duties
Depending on assignment, this position may be responsible for the following duties:
- Sorts, research, reviews, and processes requests for evidentiary in-car camera (dash cam) footage for traffic, criminal, civil, and internal investigations, or litigations
- Sorts, scans, and disseminates required documents and copies of video footage to the appropriate requesting section(s) or agency(s)
- Logs information in applicable Excel spreadsheets
- Assists Crime Analyst, Senior Office Assistants and sworn personnel with basic administrative support.
- Copies, scans, and organizes documents.
- Assists both the Services Bureau and the Operations Bureau Deputy Chief with administrative support duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Compiles reports from law enforcement databases.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical standards an employee must meet in order to perform the essential job duties with or without a reasonable accommodation include, but are not limited to:
- Performing activities requiring a full range of body movement including driving, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, carrying, walking, and standing
- Lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing office supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time with occasional standing and walking to locate/retrieve office materials
, - Hand/eye coordination and repetitive coordination of hand/wrist movement for extended periods of operation of office equipment
- Adequate vision to safely operate office equipment, seeing miniscule details on audio/visual materials, and reading electronic and paper documents
- Hear and verbally communicate to maintain effective interpersonal communications with employees and citizens
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of general clerical methods such as making copies and scanning documents.
- Ability to type accurately at a moderate speed using a computer.
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work within a diverse environment while displaying a positive and professional demeanor.
- Perform multiple diverse tasks in an organized fashion.
- Ability to prioritize work and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to learn and maintain necessary skill set.
- Work up to 25 hours per week to complete time-sensitive tasks and assignments.
- Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to display attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Ability to research and share in-car dash camera recordings with the District Attorney’s Office for active cases (these videos may include graphic or traumatic audio/video and obscene language)
- Ability to work successfully with and provide excellent customer service to supervisors, city employees, the public, and other agencies and organizations
- Must have excellent punctuality and attendance.
Other Qualifications
In addition to the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above, the candidate is required to have the following by date of application:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Prior clerical experience in a professional environment (Experience with the law enforcement field preferred)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel, specifically Excel pivot tables and graphs
- Experience with Esri ArcGis is preferred
- Familiarity with data analysis principles and techniques.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be willing to submit to and pass the following post-conditional job offer requirements:
- Comprehensive background investigation including submission of fingerprints
- Pre-employment drug screen
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Individual will potentially be exposed to audio/video or photos of traffic accidents, assaults, suicides, homicides, other deaths, or criminal incidents that may be graphic or traumatic in nature. May be required to work in a seated position for extended periods of time in a highly structured environment.
The successful candidates(s) for this position must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards as established by the Pueblo Police Department and the City of Pueblo.
Due to Federal and State Criminal Justice System access requirements, classifications that access and maintain criminal justice information may also be required, as a condition of employment, to not have been convicted of and/or have pending charges of a felony or misdemeanor crime that would deny or otherwise restrict access to criminal justice information. This requirement applies to all existing City employees as well as external candidates seeking to fill positions that meet the given criteria.
