SUMMARY

A Momentum Solutions Engineer – Network Access will serve as the primary technical resource for Momentum’s customers directly after a circuit is released. This may include channel partners, channel partner sub agents, and wholesale accounts. This individual must possess the ability to easily interface with customers, to understand customer requirements, and have a solid technical understanding of wholesale and enterprise solutions, especially in data/networking.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine customer requirements for full functionality of the Momentum solution
  • Review customer requirements to confirm Momentum’s solutions meets the customer’s request
  • Assist the Momentum Implementation team to supply clarity on design details and verify installed solution for accuracy
  • Participates in strategic and tactical order planning
  • Assist in new & existing product development; real-world application testing prior to market release
  • Review site surveys and vendor solutions for accuracy
  • Update existing documentation for products, training and customers
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented customers
  • Install all customer solutions as assigned
  • Assist in support related matters as assigned
  • Escalation resource for Data Solutions Engineering team, esp Test and Turnup Managers.
  • Liaise between customers, carriers, PMs, etc. post Completion Notice during activation.
  • Run point on customer communications following circuit completion/activation and circuit turnover to Data Support.
    1. Answering questions generated by Completion Notices from customer.
    2. Following up to confirm receipt and, if needed, aid in turnup; or retrieving documentation of successful self-activations by customer.
  • Schedule and lead Test/Turnup appointments.
    1. Coordinate between any necessary combination of customer(s), PM(s), engineer(s), carrier(s), other TNT personnel to confirm window(s) for turning up and possibly troubleshooting.
    2. Close circuit TTUs out, troubleshooting, opening tickets, or escalating as needed during calls.
    3. Troubleshoot with customer, engineering, carrier, etc. if issues arise during appointments.
  • Own 3rd party tickets when needed -
    1. Liaise between customer and carrier as point of contact.
    2. Schedule and authorize dispatches if necessary.
    3. Maintain excellent communication to both customer and carrier(s)
  • Update CRM to correctly document events, tasks, issues, etc. during circuit activation process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Circuit Implementation, Circuit Design, Circuit Provisioning or Circuit Test & Turn- Up experience strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of WAN technologies, including Ethernet, Private Line, Wavelengths, E-NNI, UNI, and EVCs and their functions
  • Solid experience with Data/IP Designs (WAN/LAN, including Layer 1 through Layer 3, and Point to Point and Point to Multi-Point, IP Addressing, On-Net and Off-Net
  • Experience working with LECs, CLECs, International Service Providers, Broadband/Cable providers, and ISPs
  • Ability to train technical and non-technical people

  • Must be able to work from home office with little supervision
  • Must have stable/consistent internet connection – subscription to a reliable, high- speed, hard-wired, bi-directional internet connection

TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:

  • Must have the ability to use a computer, associated software products (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) and the internet
  • Must have the ability to use specialized software products which includes:
  • Microsoft Windows, Google Suite, Team Viewer, Webex, Salesforce, etc.
  • Knowledge of DHCP, VLANS, DNS, T-1, TCP/IP, preferred
  • Solid experience with Data/IP Designs (WAN/LAN)
  • Data Center experience is a plus
  • Experience with MPLS, NAT, SD-WAN, firewalls, and router configurations a plus
  • Experience working with AT&T ASE, Verizon VZON or Cloud Service Providers a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication a must
  • Must demonstrate ability to utilize Salesforce within 3-6 months of hire.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Momentum Telecom products and services within 6 months of hire

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge/experience is required.
  • Minimum three years of Technical Sales/Retention or Circuit Design experience is required.
