Position: Asset Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Asset Analyst to join our operations team. This role is critical in managing and optimizing asset-related inventory, reconciling data, supporting internal teams, and cultivating strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, a keen analytical mindset, and experience in transportation, distribution, or related industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and track asset inventory, including oversight of trailers across the Forward Air network.
- Coordinate with terminals on trailer allocations and manage customer requirements for one-way moves within the network.
- Audit and reconcile weekly and monthly allocation reports; communicate discrepancies and updates to terminals and brokerage teams.
- Develop and maintain recurring operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Support internal stakeholders with asset data, usage metrics, and analytics to drive efficiency and decision-making.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships related to asset utilization and procurement.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company asset management procedures.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing industries preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professional ethics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, reconcile, and analyze complex data sets.
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced): Proven ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets, use advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting), and analyze data efficiently.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint for documentation, communication, and reporting.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems and other Management Information Systems (MIS) is a plus.
