This role will be located on West Coast, in the Las Vegas/Los Angeles/AZ-CA-NV Tri-Point-area. The focus will be on Fire, Law Enforcement, and State/Local Federal markets.

Job Description:
Summary/Objective:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying potential customers, generating new business opportunities, managing leads through the sales pipeline, and closing new business deals in the West Coast territory, specific to the Fire, Law Enforcement, and State/Local Federal Markets. The SDR will work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure that our company’s sales goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively implement new business growth campaigns by identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential customers to generate new business opportunities for the company – which includes cold calling.
- Manage leads through sales pipeline by setting appointments, timely follow up on leads, and track progress towards meeting sales goals.
- Present, promote, and sell products/services to prospective customers to achieve agreed upon sales targets.
- Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage leads, sales activities, and customer insights.
- Attend networking events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leads.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities and results to management.
- Stay up to date on market trends, competition, and industry developments and communicate to sales and marketing.
- Continuously improve through feedback.
- Establish a relationship with end-users and distribution to get Kappler products specified.
- Forecasting sales for the region/territory in conjunction with corporate goals and objectives.
- Assess competition’s strengths and weakness relative to the specific region.
- Determine product options needed to accomplish specific goals for the region.
- Deliver effective sales presentations to various groups and committees in the region.
- Represent company at trade association meetings and exhibitions.
- Assist in preparing budgets for the specific region.
- Work closely with the Regional Account Manager (if present) in the region and set goals and quotas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in business to business cold calling outbound sales and lead generation is strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the products offered in the region as well as the geography of the specific region strongly preferred, or ability to learn with training.
- Possess a fearless attitude with the ability to overcome objections without giving up.
- Metric motivated and driven to achieve goals.
- Valid driver’s license and conveniently located near an airport.
- Intermediate computer skills to include ERP software.
- Experience using CRM.
- Basic math skills including an advanced understanding of units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Microsoft Excel.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree and/or minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or related field.

- Travel within the U.S. is required, up to 50%.
