Description
The Community Partnerships Specialist supports the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains efforts in expanding opportunities for girls to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through community-based, school based and youth-centered partnerships. This includes maintaining current partnerships and building new partnerships.
The ideal candidate will be adept at public speaking, comfortable with technology, possess excellent time management and communication skills, and enjoy working with girls of all ages, backgrounds, dispositions, and abilities. The Community Partnerships Specialist is responsible for being part of a cross-functional team focused on growing and supporting Girl Scout membership throughout council region. The priorities also aim to include diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and access to ensure delivery of the best quality Girl Scout leadership experience for girls.
The Community Partnerships Specialist in collaboration with the Community Partnerships Lead will exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance. This job is not routine or clerical in nature.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements programs in accordance with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience delivery model to meet girl needs in underserved communities.
- Cultivates relationships with appropriate community leaders, schools, organizations, and businesses to support retention efforts.
- Develops and maintains program partnerships and collaborations.
- Plans, coordinates, and facilitates troop meetings, field trips, ceremonies, and family engagement events.
- Adapts programming to meet the needs of diverse groups of girls, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Responsible for implementation of grant-funded programs in accordance with funding requirements.
- Prepares action plans and assists in the design and implementation of consistent and appropriate outcome measures for outreach programs.
- Stays current with and uses technology effectively to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ensures accurate data entry and reporting in Salesforce and other council systems.
- Engages with community organizations, agencies, educators, and faith-based institutions to strengthen partnerships.
- Stays informed of trends, laws, and best practices related to youth programming and partnerships.
- Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor, and respectful engagement with all members, volunteers, partners, and colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Partnerships Lead.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS - - Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
- Enjoys working with girls of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
- Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
- Membership in the Girl Scout organization.
- Must be willing to work with all people without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and implementing programs for youth and experience with volunteer management, program evaluation/outcome measures and or community organizing.
- Proven ability to work with volunteers, community leaders, organizations, and businesses.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce results.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including travel, nights, and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Verbal fluency, good grammar, and professional appearance.
- Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and drug screening.
