Description
Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Technician
Reports to: General Manager
Exempt Position
Location: Onsite - Emmaus, PA
Description:
The EHS Technician is responsible for the safety program and reporting. This position works with the corporate Safety personnel located in other facilities and on-site management.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect workplace conditions and employee safety performance to identify areas for improvement
- Oversee safety of employees through inspections and audits
- Ensure safety equipment is maintained and evaluated for potential safety upgrades
- Identify ways to improve safety by conducting studies on workplace hazards
- Ensure reporting compliance with EPA regulations, Storm Water, and Waste Management
- Ensure reporting compliance with OSHA Safety Regulations and site inspections
- Manage and coordinate site specific safety training requirements and safety committees
- Maintain EHS procedures and training documentation
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct investigations into incidents
- Conducts site specific safety training
- Assist with emergency planning and manage response plans
- Manage random drug/alcohol testing for clients
- Work closely with EHS Director and on-site operations management team.
- Perform other additional responsibilities as instructed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Environmental and Occupational Safety & Health within a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), using EHS management software and incident reporting systems.
- Skilled in technical reporting for safety and compliance.
- Familiarity with safety management systems.
- Strong communication abilities to report findings and educate employees
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
- Able to access confined space and climb scaffolding
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of equivalent experience related to Safety Oversight and Environmental Hazards
- Thorough understanding of OSHA rules and regulations
- OSHA 500 certification

Physical requirements:
- Standing, sitting and/or walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to navigate potentially uncomfortable and/or hazardous environments that can include heights, confined spaces, and uneven surfaces.
- Fine motor skills for inspections and equipment operation.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in diverse environments that may include hazards like noise, dust, and fumes.
