Job Details
Status: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Burlington, ON
Job Purpose:
The Underwriting Analyst offers vital administrative, reporting, and analytical support to enhance decision-making through data utilization from various sources.
Essential Job Functions
Manage renewal email inbox and organize client documents
Utilize Acera Benefits Excel tool for data import and analysis
Conduct annual renewal analysis for group benefit plans
Collaborate with leadership to review and discuss renewal analysis findings when necessary
Present analysis and recommended rate actions to Employee Benefit Consultants
Negotiate renewal rates with insurers
Prepare client renewal reports
Obtain required reports from carrier sources
Analyze premium and claims experience, to identify additional reporting needs
Prepare interim reports and provide monthly renewals with commentary
Review billing statements monthly to ensure accuracy for completed renewals

Ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools resources and information
Self-guided learner & solves problems with real solutions
Working knowledge of insurance document management software
Skilled user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Completed or willingness to obtain GBA designation within an agreed upon timeframe
