Responsibilities and Duties:
- Establish and define program plan
- Participate in the control of cost, schedules, and contract
- Coordinate a wide variety of projects and taskings relating acquisition programs to different functions in the life cycle phases to include but not limited to planning, developing, testing, contracting, producing, providing acquisition logistics support, and disposal.
- Objectively evaluate and assess programmatic, technical, logistical, and operational concepts, reports and plans to ensure compliance and cohesiveness with all product office
- Use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload in a high-paced and detail-oriented
- Coordinate with Acquisition Analysts to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control
- Coordinate with Program Analysts in the preparation of budgets and schedule for all contract work and perform or assist in financial analysis.
- Ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
- Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule
- Assist with development of plans including budget(s) and schedule(s) to meet contractual/project requirements for major portions of a program.
- Advise higher level management on all matters relating to all assigned systems.
- Will identify areas needing emphasis, exercises guidance to ensure programs and initiatives are accurately meeting management expectations and alert the APM if trends, even though within tolerance, are negative.
- Provide recommendations, assistance, and support for all operations and activities under the authority of the Assistant Product Manager (APM).
- Attend meetings and conferences at Command level and higher headquarters when required.
- Coordinate and ensure management officials and team members are aware of all product activities.
- Perform critical path and risk analyses on the integrated master schedule to determine schedule realism and schedule drivers
- Work closely with industry prime contractors and Government program office personnel to effectively integrate and manage the program schedule.
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Must have experience in related field of expertise at the program and/or requirement writing level, ideally in providing programmatic and/or systems engineering/integration support to major DoD acquisition activities.
- Must have demonstrated experience working individually as well as organizing and facilitating working groups.
- Must be able to prepare detailed written reports and briefings (using Microsoft PowerPoint) suitable for presentation to senior level military and corporate leadership, as well as present material orally.
- Must have a strong understanding of Army Acquisition processes, Milestone Documentation, and program decision process.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Must have the ability to work in a teaming environment and have the personality to interface with numerous Government and contractor personnel in a rapidly paced environment.
- Receive and Maintain Security Clearance - SECRET
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with preparing all acquisition program documentation, to include, but not limited to acquisition strategy, acquisition program baseline, and integrated master schedule.
- Experience with integrating and applying several disciplines, using a matrix team of functional experts, including engineering, logistics, product assurance, contracting, and resource management.
- Familiar with current DOD (to include DOD 5000.1 and 5000.2), DA, AMC, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and local policy to decide appropriate policy and procedures in relation to current projects, taskings, issues and concerns.
- Experience conducting Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to obtain agreements concerning acceptability of the current or envisioned product in relation to current military characteristics and what may be producible and supportable later in the product life cycle.
- Existing active security clearance required: SECRET

Requirements:
May require a master’s degree and/or Ph.D.; at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals independently. Perform a wide variety of complicated tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist. May lead and direct the work of others. May report to an executive or director.
Travel: May require up to 25%.
Special Requirements: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the minimum requirements for access to classified information.
Testing: Candidates may be subject to a written test as part of the candidate interview and selection process to demonstrate written communication skills and/or the ability to deal with potentially challenging notional situations which may arise while supporting a Product Office.
