The Fireworks Manager is responsible for supervising both fireworks technicians and administrative personnel within Disney Live Entertainment at Walt Disney World. This position offers leadership and support to Entertainment Fireworks Technicians as well as hourly, non-union Cast Members.
This is a full-time salaried role that reports to the Area Manager of Fireworks.
What You Will Do
- Provide leadership and guidance to Entertainment Fireworks Technicians and hourly non-union Cast Members engaged in the storage, packing, and distribution of fireworks products and equipment
- Facilitate support for all shows and events incorporating special effects and pyrotechnics, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and safety compliance standards
- Oversee inventory management, procurement, and logistics pertaining to fireworks products and equipment
- Collaborate with Walt Disney World Entertainment Park Operations to ensure seamless execution of entertainment offerings and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in theatrical/event production or stage management
- Knowledge of STCU/IATSE agreements and technician oversight
- Understanding of ATF, EPA, and DOT guidelines for fireworks/pyrotechnics
- Eligible for ATF Employer Possessor approval
- Familiar with the Walt Disney Company policy and financial/project systems (R2, SAP, database management)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet)
- Experience with labor/pay/scheduling software (EiSS, My Time, DX Self Service Center)
- Strong team building, delegation, partnering, and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and administrative skills
- Excellent communicator with management across multiple sites
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of business practices and procedures
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
- B.A. or B.S. in the technical entertainment field or equivalent
