Description
Objective
This position will assist with all aspects of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) compliance for the Company’s vehicle fleet and CDL drivers.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist with implementing DOT compliance program to ensure the Company operates in full accordance with the DOT and FMCSA regulatory framework
• Ensure all reports, driver qualification files, FMCSR files, and DOT files are accurate and properly maintained
• Manage the Company's DOT-compliant random drug and alcohol program
• Train drivers, managers, and dispatchers on defensive driving, pre- and post-checks, vehicle maintenance, FMCSA, and post-accident processes and procedures
• Ensure that our CSA score and BASIC information is accurate and complete
• Review and track DOT inspections, including maintaining roadside inspection files and conducting audits of reports
• Track and maintain DOT required training records and e-logs
Occasional Responsibilities:
• Review pending and upcoming changes to Federal and State DOT regulations to ensure the Company is prepared for future compliance requirements and seek out industry best practices to achieve operational excellence
• Compile and file data for audits by regulatory agencies, including data for the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) requirements
• Review and report on audit results, write safety regulation procedures, update programs, and track hazard corrective actions to completion
Qualifications
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years or more of experience in an administrative role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A valid driver’s license
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business related field
• 4 years or more of experience in a transportation compliance role or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements of Position:
• Regular Day Travel (25-50%); Occasional Night Travel (0-25%)
• Frequent confined sitting (at computer, in car, etc.)
• Regular non-confined sitting (able to move about at will.)
• Frequent standing or walking
• Frequent rapid use of arms, hands or fingers, in handling or manipulating objects, or operating equipment, tools and/or instruments requiring fine eye-hand coordination

• Frequent communication with other individuals. Must be able to able to exchange accurate information when speaking with customers, coworkers, and etc.
