Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the Mine Systems and Communications Technician will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the communication and technology infrastructure critical to underground operations. This includes autonomous vehicle systems, wireless communication networks, and data cabling systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the mine while upholding Agnico Eagle’s values and commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics for LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and VHF leaky feeder systems, focusing on signal strength, uptime, and reliability.

  • Install, test, and maintain communication and data cabling systems, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE, and leaky feeder cables.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Wenco Fleet Management System, Cradlepoint routers, and autonomous vehicle platforms.

  • Collaborate with underground operations to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.

  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support, equipment servicing, and issue resolution.

  • Diploma or Degree from a Technical program in communication or networking;

  • Minimum five years’ related experience in the related field or a similar field;

  • Intermediate to expert understanding of Wi-Fi and/or LTE networks, GPS Systems, VHF radio systems;

  • Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;

  • High level of integrity and accountability;

  • Fleet Management Systems knowledge is a strong asset;

  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;

  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
