Responsible for managing all group housing room blocks to include: processing rooming lists for large city wide events and in-house programs; managing room blocks (cut off dates, guest room pick-ups, upgrades, etc); creating group codes and weblinks for direct reservations; setting up and managing sub blocks; and assisting with all other client’s housing related needs.
Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental, divisional, and hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
- Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and associate morale.
- Maintain positive guest and associate relations at all times.
- Review and analyze all reports pertaining to multi revenue, room commitment, & Passkey reservation activity
- Work closely and develop a relationship with Group Meeting Planners and Group Housing Agencies to ensure that all aspects of their group’s reservation process exceed their expectations.
- Attend Pre-Con meetings
- Gain and develop working knowledge of Ivvy, Passkey, LMS, and other reservation systems
- Complete other duties or projects as assigned by management.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the competition and marketplace and utilize this information to help strategize the future decisions and direction of the hotel.
- Have a complete understanding of the hotel’s segmentation and channel mix.
- Work with Orlando Reservations as needed.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Answer reservation questions from Front Desk/ Accounting/ Reservation Specialist/ Group.
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
- The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Candidates with specific experience in the Las Vegas market will be highly considered.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LMS and Passkey.
- Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of Revenue Management and reservations systems, personal computers and software programs.
- 1 year experience in reservations or front desk
- Must be 21 years of age.
Experience Requirements
Hotel, hospitality, or meeting/event planning experience required.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management preferred but not required. High school diploma required.
Desirables:
Previous experience with reservation systems [such as LMS and Passkey] along with an understanding of the convention, meeting, & event industry is a HUGE plus!
