What you will do
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Keeping the shop organized and free of non-needed obstructions.
  • Plus additional duties as assigned by Quality Manager.


  • What it takes
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • Analyzing Information , Reporting Research Results, Documentation Skills, Promoting Process Improvement, Safety Management, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Supports Innovation, CAD, Quality Engineering, Operations Research
  • Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as Aircraft detail parts, and subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects
  • Uses various measuring devices.( Tesa Hite Gauge, Caliper, micrometers)
  • Accepts, rejects, defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with other control procedures
  • Experience with Personal Computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum preferred
  • Must assure customer standards are maintained by ensuring that workmanship standards, specifications, and documentation requirements are met and delivered product is compliant
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed. Flexibility is a must
  • Required to be self motivated, good people skills are a must.
  • Ability to assess a situation and find the logical answer.
  • Excellent follow up skills.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, following work instructions and / or safe operating procedures
  • Customer focused.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills. (documentation and communication to users).

    Physical Demands:
    While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. 

    Work Environment:
    Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
