Credit Manager
The Credit Manager is responsible for the overall accounts receivable portfolio assigned to their defined region as it relates to credit, collection, communication, and staff needs. This includes supporting the assigned credit team on escalated issues and assisting the regional credit manager with AR reviews, training and development, and other manager duties as assigned.
Job Description
- Proactively drive profitable sales growth by securing transactions and extending credit to customers in line with company policies.
- Assess and manage risk within assigned authority and in accordance with established corporate credit policy.
- Review and evaluate new accounts for credit worthiness and establishment of credit terms.
- Manage existing accounts receivable portfolio through direct customer interaction and internal resources.
- Manage and drive collection activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with delinquent accounts to minimize bad debt and maximize sales.
- Provide management and corporate reporting.
- Review and evaluate specific jobs outside established credit terms for perfecting security interests and coordination of such.
- Review and evaluate specific jobs outside established credit terms for releasing, shipping, etc. as appropriate.
- Communicate credit requirements, credit decisions, credit terms, with appropriate internal and external customers.
- Make recommendations for legal or third-party collection action as appropriate.
- Promote professional harmonious relationships with customers, sales force and management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent credit experience
- 4-6 years previous experience in a credit/collection's role
- Ability to initiate, maintain and grow professional relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow up with exacting detail.
- Working knowledge of accounting and finance basics.
- Experience working in a commercial credit environment in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with lien and bond procedures required.
- Ability to assess risk and make balanced credit risk / sales decisions within guidelines.
- Ability to professionally communicate credit requirements and/or credit decisions.
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent time management skills – adept at working with urgency and meeting deadlines as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Occasional travel required for business purposes.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to drive collection results
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
- 4-6 years of credit lead experience
