Generation Lead

This role on the SCM Inventory Strategy team utilizes Generation plant experience to ensure end-user perspectives are incorporated into services provided by Supply Chain Management. The role utilizes first-hand plant experience and effective relationships to maximize the value delivered by projects, initiatives, and processes managed by SCM. This position will utilize subject matter expertise and project management skills to align SCM functions (e.g., Category Management, Transactions, and Inventory Strategy) with stakeholders in Planning, Maintenance, Engineering roles

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or other relevant technical disciplines preferred

• Supply Chain Management certification (e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, Professional Contract Manager, Certified Commercial Contract Manager) is a plus

• Project Management certification (e.g., Project Management Professional, Certified associate in project management) is a plus

 

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of Generation plant experience is a plus 

• Experience as a System Owner or Outage Manager is a plus

• 3 to 5 years of project management experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality is a plus

• Experience working on cross-functional projects to implement process changes is preferred

 

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance strategies

• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management functions and processes

• Professional written and verbal communication skills

• Facilitation skills

• Project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed project plans, breaking projects into tasks and sub-tasks with steady progression, milestones, and deliverables

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Reporting and data visualization is a plus

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position will manage process improvement and technology projects related to inventory management and materials management. Projects will typically involve a broad range of stakeholders from different OpCos, business units, and departments.

• This position will work with Plant materials management teams to develop and execute inventory management strategies that optimize and reduce the plants cost to manage inventory across the fleet.

• This position will work with the SCM Procurement and Contracts teams to identify process inconsistences between the plants and develop a strategy to standardize and automate work when possible.

• This position will work with SCM Category Management to develop and execute category plans that identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, drive cost savings, manage risk, improve safety, drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of categories managed.

•  Interfaces with all levels of Supply Chain Management and Business Unit partners, including senior management.
