Purpose of Role
- Responsible for designing and delivering modern applications that embed AI into our business processes. Owns solutions end-to-end, from front-end UX to APIs and infrastructure.
- Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Builds secure, responsive web applications with React/TypeScript and REST/GraphQL APIs in Node.js/Python.
- Designs and operates event-driven services and data models across relational (Azure SQL/Postgres) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB, DynamoDB) stores.
- Integrates Azure OpenAI for RAG, summarization, and classification workflows with guardrails.
- Implements document and search workflows using Azure AI Search and Document Intelligence.
- Operationalizes Azure Cognitive Services for OCR, speech, and forms.
- Deploys and monitors models with Azure ML; interop with AWS Bedrock or SageMaker as needed.
- Defines resources with Terraform across Azure and AWS; manage identity, secrets, and networking securely.
- Deploys workloads to AKS or App Service (plus AWS ECS/Lambda where used).
- Builds pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; enable automated testing, canary releases, and environment protections.
- Implements observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and OpenTelemetry.
- Applies least-privilege IAM/Entra ID roles, secret management, and PII handling practices.
- Implements audit trails, prompt safety checks, and bias monitoring for AI features.
- Partners with Security/Compliance teams to embed governance in development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum 5 years developing production web apps/services with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python.
- Experience with Azure services (Functions, App Service/AKS, API Management, Key Vault, Storage).
- Experience integrating Azure AI services into production apps.
- Strong Terraform and CI/CD expertise.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL datastores, and event-driven design.
- Solid understanding of identity, secrets, and cloud security practices.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($77,000 - $115,400) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer. We offer a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time-off benefits, flexible spending account, 401(k) with employer match, and ESPP.
