Job Summary:
Under the Internal Communications Manager's supervision, using independent thought, but following established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties as required to provide assistance and support to the Internal Communications Team. Duties include but are not limited to: employee engagement communications, with a talent for content creation, branding, graphics/video creation and web publishing. This role produces targeted content for internal stakeholders and manages systems and regular communications production, while supporting new communications strategies and efforts that build the Apple brand internally. Other duties include assistance with Q&A documentation after meetings and planning management communication around reviews, goals and awards. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles of Team Up, Serve with Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other duties as assigned by the Internal Communications Manager and/or the AVP of Member Experience or VP of Marketing and Communications.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of Internal Communications Manager develop, produce edit and publish editorial and organizational content on a regular basis.
Write and edit content for an internal audience, including news posts, email copy and organizational information, such as announcements, awards/recognition, etc. Content ranges from feature stories, coordinated graphics, multi-media content, event details, organizational information such as announcements, enterprise objectives, awards/recognition). Follow editorial guidelines and provide editing feedback to colleagues across the organization. Work closely with web team to coordinate and create intranet site improvements and publications. Produce and build a weekly internal company communication channel. Organize and assess editorial content and coordinate a publication schedule. Execute assigned email campaigns, including building emails from various system templates and email marketing software. Support asset coordination, proofreading/QA, assigning appropriate recipient lists and scheduling for deployment. Work with design team and design software resources to optimize email creative and template structure, based on best practices.
Develop content and schedule publishing relevant, all-staff information for Apple FCU headquarters’ digital monitors. Act as point-of-contact for all teams and individuals with digital monitor content requests, and oversee the deployment schedule for content within the inLighten system.
Support employee engagement initiatives across Apple FCU by assisting with scheduling, logistics and planning for assigned employee meetings, events and programs.
Identify and brainstorm new opportunities, tools and features to engage the employee audience, as well as stay abreast of new technologies, trends and strategies in digital and online media focused for internal communications.
Provide back-up support to the intranet staff and marketing content team, as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience within the human resources, or marketing/communications field, specifically in the area of employee engagement or corporate communications. Experience writing for website/digital is a necessity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe products and a willingness to learn new platforms. Familiarity with HTML and CSS. Demonstrated analysis of results and experience working with email marketing software and content management systems (CMS). Working knowledge of graphic templates platforms (Adobe Express, Canva) is also beneficial.
Education:
BA/BS degree preferably in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, or related field.
Interpersonal Skills:
Consistently manages simultaneous projects and demonstrates high degree of follow-through and regular communication. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to shift gears with little notice. Desire to work as part of a team, collaborating and brainstorming regularly. Ability to get along well with others and be able to work diplomatically at all levels.
Other Skills:
Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal communication, time management, and demonstrate an ability to work independently and with personal initiative. The ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously and an innovative, creative, energetic personality are a must. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication. Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, Mac, copier, phone.
Work Environment:
Ability to function in a hybrid, financial institution environment.
Local travel may be required
