Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. SQL Developer with strong technical and analytical skills. Experience in the wholesale brokerage insurance industry is preferred. The role involves working closely with business users, analysts, QE teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions. This individual will act as a senior developer, mentor, and advisor, providing guidance to a team of developers while ensuring smooth production support and application enhancements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as a senior developer to design, develop, and implement solutions.
Act as the single point of contact for development of existing applications and production incident support.
Maintain and enhance existing software applications.
Manage and support SQL database environments across production, testing, and development.
Analyze complex technical information to determine risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies.
Create and maintain technical documentation for system users and training purposes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Work closely with business leads and product owners to gather and refine requirements.
Support configuration changes and technical/functional improvements.
Required Skills
Hands-on SQL, VBScript, and JavaScript experience (8+ years).
Experience in ETL, SSIS packages, and workflow/automation creation.
Familiarity with legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience (preferably Specialty Insurance).
Proficiency in Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, Retool, GoAnywhere, Redgate Tools, Git.
Knowledge of ConceptOne, AIM, and ImageRight (preferred).
Strong experience working in Agile environments (Scrum & Kanban).
Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, ITIL tools, and frameworks.
Solid understanding of web applications, cloud managed services, SOA, microservices, containers, APIs, and managed databases.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Nice to have: Cloud experience in Azure or GCP.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (Required).
8+ years of professional IT experience.
