The individual is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and supply chain of the logistics warehouse in Montreal, in support of Air Canada Line and Airframe Maintenance. These responsibilities include financial analysis and performance management of the various logistics functions and inventory control to identify issues and opportunities in collaboration with the management, and subsequent development of solutions and identification of opportunities to improve the operational and financial performance of the business. The role will provide leadership strategies and overall management of all logistics activities that meet operational requirements and Air Canada’s standard of airworthiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the logistics warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Responsible for yearly cycle counts and inventory accuracy of designated stations.
  • Accountable for developing, managing and administrating the budget and expenditures of the logistics operations for designated region.
  • Develop station business plans and strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as Air Canada’s standards of airworthiness and operational requirements.
  • Accountable for the implementation and follow-up of all Healthy & Safety policies and initiatives, and to promote a culture of safety and compliance within the team.
  • Have ultimate accountability for establishing objectives and holding the team accountable for deliverables by demonstrating actual performance against goals.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the team, ensuring alignment with Air Canada’s goals and objectives by setting clear direction.  
  • Be knowledgeable and remain current with ongoing industry best practices. Drive changes to achieve new business tactics and strategies in order to minimize cost.  
  • Develop and maintain strong rapport with internal & external customers to support the logistics and supply chain functions.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction by recognizing, developing and engaging talent in order to achieve high level of performance and to breed success.
  • Maintain and develop the level of qualifications, training and competency of personnel regionally.

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain or equivalent professional experience. 
  • 7-10 years of Warehouse Management experience, within a unionized environment being an asset.
  • Experience in focused functional areas such as Logistics or Materials Management or Inventory Management. 
  • Knowledge of warehousing distribution, logistics and transportation. 
  • Proven leadership abilities in coaching, motivating employees and resolving issues. 
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives while maintaining positive and productive working relationships. 
  • Experience working with operating budgets and forecasts. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong negotiating skills. 
  • Previous management experience in a unionized environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
