Your role, as part of Havas Consumer Science & Analytics (CSA) 

Our growing team is on the lookout for a sharp, ambitious Senior SEO Copywriter who wants to do more than churn out keywords and meta tags. If you’re ready to push beyond basic SEO, own the content strategy for top-tier brands, and see your work integrated across web, product, and AI, you’re in the right place. 

You’ll join CSA, Havas’s advanced analytics, growth, and content team – unique in ANZ for putting data, SEO, cloud engineering, and CX in one integrated team across Australia & New Zealand.  

You’ll join the core SEO team, directly collaborating with senior colleagues in data, customer experience & CRO. We’re working as part of the Australian Havas Village across Sydney and Melbourne, with sister agencies handling creative, PR, and of course media. We can guarantee that you’ll learn fast, accelerate your skills, and operate at the sharp end of digital marketing, with direct lines to both clients and senior practitioners. Your work will power not just websites, but also AI chatbots, product feeds, and the next generation of AI-driven customer journeys. 

You'll be responsible for producing copy that enables both real audiences and language models to clearly understand, surface, and recommend our clients’ brands - even without the usual supports of design, branding, or established relationships. This is a key challenge facing every brand as AI-powered interfaces become the new gatekeepers. 

As chat-based AI now cannibalises entire customer journeys—with people discovering, evaluating, and buying in a single chat, never visiting a website—the content you create is what will determine if a brand is found, trusted, and chosen.

What you’ll do 

Research, prioritise, and strategise 

  • Own keyword and topic research, mapping to user intent and journeys 

  • Use SEMrush, Ahrefs, and GSC to surface opportunities, prioritise optimisations, and support cross-channel content planning 

  • Perform SERP and competitor reviews for gaps and quick wins; anticipate shifts (AI Overviews, People Also Ask, etc) 
     

Write, optimise, and scale 

  • Produce and optimise service, category, product, location/store, blog, resource, and FAQ pages 

  • Structure content for maximum clarity, rankings, and conversion—Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, internal links, anchors 

  • Write with on-brand tone, clear calls to action, and true user value 

Answer engine & LLM content 

  • Create concise, authoritative copy designed for featured snippets, People Also Ask, AI Overviews, and LLMs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, etc.) 

  • As you grow, and in collaboration with the wider team, embed schema, entities, and structured data, to optimise machine-readability  

AI-integrated workflows 

  • Use AI to accelerate research, outlines, variants, and QA 

  • Maintain a strong human layer: fact-checking, bias/plagiarism checks, and critical editorial judgment 

  • Stay current on AI-in-search and how LLMs interpret/serve content

Implement, iterate, and improve 

  • Publish in CMS for certain clients, own formatting, links, and quality control 

  • Monitor performance, update content based on signals and feedback 

Collaborate and integrate 

  • Work with SEO, data, CX, and engineering to align messaging, integrate into broader campaigns, and support client growth holistically 

 

What you bring 

  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO copywriting for high-traffic sites (lead-gen, ecommerce, enterprise) 

  • Mastery of SEMrush, Ahrefs, GSC, and interpreting keyword/performance data 

  • Confident publishing in CMS, not just handing off drafts 

  • Advanced on-page optimisation (intent mapping, internal linking, snippet tactics, schema) 

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and face clients directly 

  • Track record of managing multiple briefs, deadlines, and stakeholders 

  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication; can explain strategy simply and defend recommendations 

  • Audience-first mindset—content built to answer real user needs, not just rank 

  •  AI proficiency: Skilled in leveraging AI tools for research, ideation, and QA—understand how AI and LLMs are reshaping the content landscape and search  

  •  Proactive, self-driven: Takes initiative, thrives in low-micromanagement environments 

  • Fast learner, versatile: Open to feedback, rapidly adapts, and able to handle varied, shifting priorities
