What is Lifebanc?
Lifebanc, is the federally designated organ, eye and tissue recovery organization that serves 20 counties in Northeast Ohio. Put simply, we facilitate and coordinate organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation in our community and educate the public on the importance of our mission. Job Summary:
This position is responsible for utilizing clinical expertise to create and facilitate engaging learning
opportunities for field staff. Uses adult learning principles to develop role-specific orientation, ongoing
staff development, and continuing education. Engages and mentors experienced staff in preceptor
development.
Essential Functions:
- Understands and executes essential job functions of designated field staff in order to develop
appropriate training programs. - Provides expertise to support the development of training materials and activities including, but
not limited to, eLearning, instructor-led, blended learning, skills training, and simulation. - Maintains clinical presence in hospitals and Donor Care Facility to observe, educate, and assess mastery of job skills and core competencies for field staff.
- Maintains knowledge and competence related to respective department(s).
- Attends department meetings, huddles, case reviews, and other events pertinent to respective
departments. - Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Models the application of evidence-based practice.
- Leads onboarding of new employees, in partnership with Learning & Development Specialist, preceptors, and managers to ensure an effective transition experience for the new hire and department.
- Collaborates with Manager of Education & Professional Development, Learning & Development Specialist, and department leaders/educators to develop role-specific, cross-functional, and organization-wide training activities.
- Develops competency assessment methods that align with internal and external standards and organizational key performance indicators.
- Ensures training and education processes meet the organization’s learning and compliance needs.
- Maintains oversight of training schedules and training records.
- Collaborates with other departments to address specific training needs identified on performance management, occurrences, internal audits, and organizational audits such as hospital feedback, UNOS, AOPO, CMS, FDA, and AATB.
- Ensures changes to policies and procedures are updated across training activities.
- Participates in the identification, training, and ongoing review of department preceptors.
- Coordinates quarterly consent training for respective department(s).
- Serves as power user for learning management system.
- Documents and monitors learning within the LMS for respective department(s).
- Generates LMS reports for purposes of performance tracking, skills management, & external and internal audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in health care and/or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the clinical health care field required.
• Experience as a trainer, educator, supervisor, or preceptor is required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state(s) in which he or she practices, in
accordance with law and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, SharePoint,Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Service-oriented and collaborative approach with proactive management of expectations and
ability to problem solve.
• Ability to take ownership, manage, and prioritize workload and meet deadlines independently.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with managers, employees and other
donor hospital partners.
• Skill in analyzing data to identify issues and trends.
• Ability to give attention to detail.
• Ability to be flexible by adapting actions to facilitate the most productive work environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of field-based departments.
• Ability to work independently in office or clinical settings, as needed.
• Current valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Ability to travel within donor service area 20-60%.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
