Zimmerman Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Financial Analyst to provide business, financial, and programmatic support for the Advanced Undersea Systems Program Office (PMS 394), under the Program Executive Officer (PEO) Attack Submarines (PEO SSN).

Essential Functions:
Perform financial analyst services including data gathering, budget and financial analysis, and trend analysis.
Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets; generate financial reports; and maintain appropriate documentation.
Provide daily support to the Financial Management team.
Collect and review financial data from multiple sources.
Build financial models, prepare statements, apply forecasting techniques, and evaluate performance against budget submissions.
Coordinate with customers and field activities to establish funding priorities.
Reconcile spend plans per Resource Management Plans and weekly status reports.
Compile and submit Task Assignment Sheets to initiate financial transactions.
Track and reconcile funds obligation and expenditure status.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and respond to data calls.
Provide inputs for Congressional budget exhibits.
Ensure timely receipt of reimbursable funds by coordinating with field activities.
Develop analytical and technical inputs for documentation review.
Create unclassified and classified briefs for decision-makers, including Flag-level audiences.
Manage and delegate tasking to other financial analysts.
Demonstrate professionalism, high standards of conduct, and teamwork in all activities.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
- Note: Candidates with three (3) or more years of direct Navy financial/business support experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience as a DoD financial analyst, including at least three (3) years with the Navy.
- Experience executing funds in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Knowledge of the Navy’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes.
- Experience with PDOCs, RDOCs, COBRA, and PBIS database.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables.
Preferred Education & Experience
Experience working in a Navy environment, preferably within Team Submarine or submarine-related programs.
Familiarity with NAVSEA and Team Submarine policies and procedures.
Knowledge of rules governing Navy Appropriations.
Experience in Budget Automation and Process Improvement.
Competencies
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proven ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data for senior leader review.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
Additional Requirements
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is an onsite role in a professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers).
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
