The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Independence (OFI), is currently seeking candidates for the of Administrative Assistant 2 position in the State Operations unit. This position is located at the State Office building, Fulton County, Georgia.

Position Duties
Pay Grade: G
Under direct supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, report, or presentations. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Director and provides administrative support to the Community Services Block Grant and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Unit.
- Provides technical assistance and works to resolve program or client issues/questions.
- Manages routine administrative functions for the unit, such as telecommunications, billing/credit, property control, etc.
- Reviews program invoices for accuracy.
- Develops and maintains a tracking system to assure prompt response to all correspondence.
- Plans/schedules meetings and follow up with required action items.
- Creates reports and spreadsheets as requested by the CSBG/LIHEAP Director.
- Provides assistance and problem resolution to internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Order supplies.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintains record keeping and electronic filing system.
- Proficiency with all current Microsoft Office programs as well as any other software programs, online communication platforms, office equipment, and other technology necessary to perform the job.
- Maintains confidential records.
- Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED AND three (3) years of job-related experience.
- One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
- Four (4) years of administrative experience
- Proficient level experience in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
