HR Administrator – On-Site (Pelham, AL)

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our team in Pelham, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing payroll, supporting benefits administration, maintaining HRIS reporting, and managing employee files with accuracy and confidentiality. You will serve as both the owner and backup for critical HR operational functions, ensuring compliance, timeliness, and excellent employee support. We are seeking an individual with strong organizational skills, experience in payroll and HR systems (ADP preferred), and a passion for supporting people. What You Do

  • Process payroll on weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly schedules, including deductions, off-cycle payrolls, garnishments, levies, and system reconciliations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, onboarding, and HR processes.
  • Provide training to new employees and supervisors on payroll, benefits, and HRIS usage.
  • Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HRIS and payroll reports.
  • Maintain accurate payroll documentation and ensure compliance with governing agencies.
  • Manage and update employee files in ADP and shared systems while safeguarding confidentiality.
  • Perform regular audits of HR files and records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Respond to unemployment compensation filings and related inquiries.
  • Support quarterly and year-end audits for tax reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with open enrollment and benefits administration for new hires and qualifying life events.
  • Coordinate the post-offer process, including reference checks, background screening, and job selection documentation.
  • Update internal communication platforms with HR and company-related content.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of company events and employee engagement activities.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Three or more years of human resources experience required; payroll and benefits experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • HRIS experience required; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
