Buyer – Indirect Spend will be responsible for managing procurement activities across non-technical indirect categories, including both CAPEX and OPEX. The role will ensure that all procurement processes are executed efficiently, in full compliance with internal policies, and aligned with stakeholder expectations. Reporting directly to the Country Manager Indirect Spend Purchasing and will be based in Bandung.

Key responsibilities include

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories to support operational and project needs, included but not limited Facility Management, IT & Communication, Professional Services, Marketing & Events, Office Supplies, General Services and consumables, and Capex
• Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including supplier identification, qualification, tendering, negotiation, and contract finalization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HR, Marketing, Corp Comm, IT, Finance, Legal) to ensure procurement aligns with technical and delivery requirements.
• Manage procurement activities for CAPEX and OPEX (e.g., services, consumables) in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and proactively manage risks.
• Ensure compliance with Barry Callebaut’s global procurement policies and local regulatory requirements.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc procurement reports to management.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure data integrity in procurement systems.
  
  

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. A technical background is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with procurement systems such as Coupa, SAP, or Maximo is a plus.
• Minimum 5 - 7 years of procurement experience in a multinational manufacturing environment, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Contract negotiation and vendor performance evaluation
  • CAPEX and OPEX procurement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• High level of autonomy and accountability.
• Familiarity with procurement compliance and risk management practices.
• Willing to be placed in Bandung
