Then this position is for you:
Intercity Transit is recruiting internally for the part-time position of Safety Administrative Assistant Intern to serve as the initial contact for the Safety Department. The selected candidate will approximately 20 to 24 hours a week in this role. This position will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and data entry duties in support of the Administrative Safety/Training division. As an Assistant, this position primarily performs specialized and routine tasks of a support nature, requiring knowledge of other departments, department activities, policies, procedures and general office methods.
Position Duties
As a Safety Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Perform various clerical and office duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include: screening incoming calls; taking and transmitting messages; distributing mail; photocopying; performing data entry; preparing mailings; typing; and word processing.
- Maintain safety files, component files, event reports, and operator reports.
- Assist with or conduct special research assignments; evaluate, analyze data, and prepare conclusions and recommendations for consideration.
- Participate in a variety of meetings, reserve meeting rooms, prepare meeting minutes, and agendas.
- Develop and maintain databases, logs, and tracking systems to facilitate department operations and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Are you the one we are looking for?
- Associate’s Degree, and
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office, to include: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Experience performing basic research, analyzing data and information; developing, evaluating, and presenting recommendations.
- Customer service skills that reflect courtesy and dependability while maintaining a positive attitude and contributing to a diverse team environment.
- No discipline within the past 12 months (low level discipline for preventables may not be a disqualifier).
- A history of consistent and reliable attendance.
