Purpose:
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a candidate to enhance our innovative scientific analytics capability. In this capacity the Manager, Innovative Scientific Analytics, will assist in the design, development, implementation, and deployment of automated analytics solutions to drive and accelerate evidence and insight generation with AI/GenAI and ML.
You will be responsible for:
This person will support innovative scientific analytic projects in collaboration with cross-functional partners including Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Strategic Customer Group, and other functions to perform scientifically rigorous analytics.
The successful candidate will provide critical on-demand analytics support to our internal partners, translate analytics requests into data and programming languages, applying appropriate advanced analytics methods.
Ensure all analytics projects are conducted in compliance with internal and external policies, and procurement requirements are satisfied.
Activities may also include: data query, data engineering, and data management; design and implementation of AI/ML approaches to support real-world evidence studies that provide economic perspective for product portfolio decisions, marketing, and product reimbursement strategies; design, implement, and manage real-world evidence studies and the development of models/tools, from concept through delivery; manage AI/ML techniques to develop and deliver research analytics or reimbursement programs; develop user facing full stack applications.
Qualifications / Requirements:
A minimum of a Master’s degree is required, in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Data Science or related quantitative discipline. A doctorate degree, such as PhD, is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of data-centric work experience in an industry environment or 2 years with a doctorate degree is required.
Proficiency in developing full stack data science application is required.
Experience in performing algorithm design, implementation, and/or optimization, including algorithm-level understanding of analytic models is required
Experience on LLM architecture and fine-tuning and RAG
Experience on agentic AI frameworks like Langchain, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Self-motivation, self-initiation, and ability to meet deadlines are required.
Scientific lead and project management experience is required.
Experience in delivering end-to-end analytic solutions to cross-functional partners is strongly preferred
Experience deploying analytics/machine learning solutions on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), including containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD automation.
Proficiency in version control (Git), collaborative coding, and software engineering best practices.
Familiarity with big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Dask) and pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Luigi).
Experience developing APIs for model serving (e.g., RESTful APIs, FastAPI, Flask).
Awareness of data security, regulatory standards, and best practices for privacy.
Experience in prototyping interactive dashboards or full-stack web applications (e.g., Dash, Streamlit, or JavaScript frameworks).
Experience in high performance computing and parallel programming is strongly preferred
Machine Learning Foundation: Experience in integrating and deploying machine learning models, familiarity with common ML libraries such as Scikit-Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, PyTorch, or Keras is strongly preferred
Experience in managing SQL (postgresSQL, mySQL) and noSQL databases and large data set manipulation is strongly preferred
Previous experience in oncology, hematology, immunology, or neuroscience is preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500 USDAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
