We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Intern  to join our team. They  will be assisting with different aspect of the human resources department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and general HR related administrative duties. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can support the company's HR initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the agency's recruitment efforts by  contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport.

Posting and removing job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.

Screening candidate's resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.

Coordinates the onboarding process for new team members, interns and volunteers, including verification of credentials, background screenings, reference checks, and the provision and coordination of orientation.

Assists in the coordination of team members engagement activities and events, such as health and wellness, recruitment, employee recognition, and professional development

Maintains accurate personnel, intern, and volunteer records by ensuring that the documentation in digital and paper personnel files is in compliance with licensing standards and governmental regulations.

Ensures that CHF team members, interns and volunteers are treated in accordance with the Mission and Principles of the agency.    

Other assigned duties in support of the smooth operation of the agency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in human resource management or studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field

EXPERIENCE: Proven experience working in an office environment. Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws. Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is advantageous.

SCHEDULE: flexible schedule, 20 hours per week 

SKILLS: Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work well with others. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. The ability to work as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent administrative and organizational skills. Effective communication skills. Detail-oriented.

TRANSPORTATION: Must have a valid FL driver’s license and good driving record.  May need to drive to job fairs or other events. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work occasionally in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion, bend, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.  

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: This position does not perform supervisory duties

EQUIPMENT USED: Must be proficient in usage of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based software.
