The Opportunity
Abt Global is currently seeking Web Communications Editors for an upcoming opportunity focused on researching environmental exposures and their effect on human health. The project will focus on providing scientific and administrative support to an agency that addresses scientific and regulatory concerns about human health effects of chemical agents in our environment. As the Web Communications Editor, you will be responsible for developing and disseminating relevant project findings. This is expected to be a full-time role to be based in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate technical toxicology data into accessible language for public, regulatory, and stakeholder audiences.
- Edit scientific reports, summaries, and web content for clarity, consistency, and tone.
- Ensure content aligns with project goals, regulatory standards, and organizational voice.
- Maintain and update project website with the latest research findings and relevant public health information.
- Work in close collaboration with toxicologists, researchers, and data analysts to understand findings and ensure accurate representation online.
- Develop strategies for engaging different audiences and incorporate helpful infographics to disseminate project findings.
What We Value
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or other appropriate field with at least nine years of experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as HTML and other coding languages.
- Familiarity with toxicology terminology, research methods, and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards and scientific publishing ethics.
- Experience in translating technical/scientific materials for a variety of audiences is required.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $49,000 to $68,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
