About the Department
Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, the Information Systems Security Analyst will work closely with the Senior Network Administrator and the Information System Project Manager to help supervise the IT network staff and help ensure that all network data and system development information is secure and follows cyber security protocols. The Information Systems Security Analyst is responsible for maintaining data and monitoring security, planning, implementing and upgrading security measures, policies and controls, conducting internal and external security audits and analyzing security breaches. The Information Systems Security Analyst will conduct penetration testing, manage network, intrusion detection and prevention systems, research, recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures, coordinate security plans with outside vendors and protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification or destruction.
Position Duties
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or five years of professional experience in information systems or any equivalent combination of training and experience in information security. This position requires a working knowledge and understanding of network protocols and system behavior, ISO27001, DLP, AV, anti-malware, TCP/IP, computer networking, cloud computing, routing and switching. Also an understanding of Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems and C, C++, C#, Java or PHP programming languages. Experience is preferred in penetration testing and an ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and how to avoid them. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and attendance are essential to this position. This position requires the ability to work well independently or with a team, maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public and to complete assignments in a timely manner with limited or no supervision.
