Position Duties
As a VDC Manager, you are a technically skilled and detail-oriented leader who embraces innovation and drives the adoption of advanced digital tools and workflows. You communicate clearly and mentor others to build strong capabilities across the team. With deep expertise in virtual design, construction, and BIM, you navigate complex projects with precision and strategic insight. Adaptable and proactive, you balance hands-on technical knowledge with a big-picture perspective to ensure accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement throughout every phase.
What you will do:
- Train and support project managers and teams in using VDC tools and processes, leading the deployment of technologies like Autodesk Construction Cloud and laser scanning for capital projects.
- Lead the development and standardization of BIM execution plans and workflows, oversee BIM deliverables, and maintain accurate, up-to-date models in line with VDC/BIM guidelines.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to integrate BIM into project reviews, assist with Civil 3D design efforts, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Manage CAD and Civil 3D tasks including airfield layout, facility floorplan updates, design drawing reviews, and coordinate timely delivery of as-built documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management desired with at least three years of experience in VDC/BIM, building design, construction, or related technology implementation.
- Demonstrate hands-on expertise with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Civil 3D, Recap, and other BIM tools, with experience managing VDC tasks on multidisciplinary projects.
- Possess strong knowledge of VDC processes, Autodesk products, and various project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build, with the ability to collaborate effectively with professionals and external partners.
- Proficiency in project workflows across design, estimation, construction, and coordination, with additional skills in MS Office, and familiarity with GIS, Building Condition Assessment, Teams, and Power BI considered a plus.
