We are currently seeking a passionate and service-minded individual to join our team in the Temporary Clerical Pool, someone who shares our commitment to excellence and community connection.
Under the guidance of the assigned supervisor, the purpose of this position is to provide premier customer service to employees and the general public, by providing administrative and clerical support to the assigned department. This position serves in an on-call status/substitute status, filling in throughout various departments, as needed. The length of assignment may vary. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Position Duties
- Provides premier customer service to citizens, internal and external customers by responding to requests in a positive, timely, effective and professional manner. Acts as liaison to the public by answering and directing telephone calls, answering questions, providing information and directing customers to the appropriate location.
- Assists in the overall functions of the assigned department. This may be accomplished by successfully processing and posting a variety of payments to a customer account, researching information, and other department-specific duties assigned by the department supervisor.
- Provides administrative support to assigned department. This may be accomplished by composing memos and other correspondence, making copies of necessary documents, processing and distributing departmental mail, and maintaining a variety of files by electronically scanning documents and filing hard copies of documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency required. Basic college level coursework is highly desirable. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience in Publisher and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Six months to one year clerical or general office experience required.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug/alcohol screening, meeting City standards.
