Applications Engineer General
Job Summary:
Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for an Applications Engineer General. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Infotainment module Applications Engineer.
- Lead component packaging and integration of Our Client´s Infotainment on multiple vehicle lines.
- Ensure Programs’ work is met on time and with the highest quality. This includes: FEDEBOM, Packaging/Digital Buck, DPA Checks, WERS, FEDE, Subsystem/Supplier work plans, IVS SW DVP&R, Engineering Signoff, etc.
- Develop work plans and lead resolution of Infotainment implementation and validation related issues.
- Lead Design Validation and Production Validation for Components of Infotainment.
- Support prototype vehicle builds, and production vehicle launches.
- Lead current production/assembly plant issues associated with Infotainment features/parts.
- Occasional travel to Assembly plants to support vehicle launch and production issues.
- Lead quality and warranty analysis of production vehicles.
- Onsite position. Expected to be onsite at least 4 days a week.
Basics:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 10+ years of experience in product development in automotive electrical areas.
- Team Center ex: Reviewing module 2D/3D CAD and approving drawings. Work with Mechanical Engineer on packaging location in vehicle.
- Jira ex: Reporting Hardware issues and following up on reported bugs. Using JIRA for creating epics, requirements and others.
- AIM ex: Monitoring AIMs issues reported against the infotainment module and updating it with 8D/5D as needed.
- PPAP processes ex: work with suppliers on building released end items parts and ensuring they are fully PPAP'd for Plant introduction.
- CAD reviewing packaging guidelines for module and working on DPA checks, Mechanical engineer and program team to meet CAD requirements.
- AVBOM - replaced by FEDEBOM, release production and prototype parts for respective programs.
- APQP plan and monitor GPDS milestones ensuring deliverables are tracked and met with evidence.
- WERS work with WERS analyst on releasing correct part numbers for respective program through concerns, reviewing tree charts and buildability reports as well as creating alerts for HW changes trials and SREA implementations.
Preferred:
- Experience in CAD packaging.
- Have knowledge or previous experience as a D&R or Core Engineer for electronics systems.
- Familiarity with CAN communication protocol.
- Ability to use automotive tools: DET, CAN tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with multi-functional teams and champion issue resolution to get the job done.
- Understanding of Vehicle Architecture and communication.
- Highly motivated, extremely proactive and attention to details.
- Experience managing Tier 1 automotive suppliers.Testing, Material Requirements Planning.
