About this Opportunity:
The primary function As a CAD Designer, you will be a part of a team that works with engineers to understand the requirements of their initial designs and turn them into accurate 3D models, and detailed 2D technical drawings. These drawings are used at all stages of a project, from cost estimating and feasibility to creating instructions for manufacturing, assembly, and installation. Travel is required
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.
- Create 3D models of fluid power systems, including reservoirs, weldments, skids, brackets, piping, hoses, etc.
- Draw 2D schematic drawings of fluid power systems, and maintain associated bill of material (BOM)
- Create detailed engineering drawings for the manufacture, assembly, and installation of 3D modeled items.
- Checking models, drawings, and BOM’s created by others
- Revision of models and drawings created by others following company process
- Adhere to industry and company standards for engineering drawings
- Accountable for on-time and thorough completion of all assigned tasks
- Save all documentation for assigned tasks on the company network
- Save models and drawings in the Product Data Management (PDM) system
- Follow all company and department procedures
- Foster a positive team environment by assisting co-workers
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Other duties may be required.

Location:
Evolution Motion Solutions is headquartered in Farmers Branch, TX with additional offices in TX, UT, AL, AZ, MT, OK, MA, MI IN, IL, OH and Canada. This position will be based out of our Farmers Branch, TX facility.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.
EDUCATION:
- Associates degree in computer aided design or related discipline or relevant work-related experience
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ experience in CAD
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software. Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor or SolidWorks preferred.
- Proficient with PDM or PLM software. Autodesk Vault or SolidWorks Vault preferred.
- Ability to perform trigonometry, tolerance stack-ups, fits, and other design related calculations
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and practices for mechanical parts, assemblies, and schematics
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including milling, lathe, CNC, welding, grinding, cutting, and bending
- Proficient using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PDF editing software
- Strong internet research skills to obtain CAD models of commercially available components
- Professional communication in person and by phone and email with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
- Self-management skills including taking notes and maintaining a personal action item list
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail – ensuring quality working products
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting items such as a laptop computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Must be able to move through customer sites, including warehouses, shipyards, oil field rigs, manufacturing facilities, and related machinery, etc. Work outside normal business hours may be required.
Travel is required
