SUMMARY
Responsible for welding and fabrication of custom enclosures from raw material and building prototypes, while under the general supervision of the production supervisor and department leads.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welds a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and jet-kote.
- Develops welding projects by analyzing workorders, prints and completed assembly.
- Calculates requirements; studies metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.
- Inspects first part and verifies conformance before proceeding with production
- Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Hardware insertion, pressing and welding (studs, pem-nuts etc.)
- Ability to perform all of the preventative maintenance for machine and torch set-up
- Ability to optimize production while fabricating enclosures and small parts
- All welds are cosmetically smooth and passable; minimal warping and provide sufficient and sound advice all things related to welding.
- Abide by all rules and regulations as set forth in your employee handbook.
- Sustains 5S in workstations.
- Practices ESL’s core values on a daily basis.
- Use lean practices and processes to keep department efficient
- Perform other duties/tasks as assignment
- Follow safety procedures and wear required Proper Protective Equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Proficient in multiple welding processes - Mig, Tig and spot welding - all phases of structural welding is a plus
- Read and interpret blue prints as it relates to the project
- Ability to assist in layout and fab design
EXPERIENCE
- Grinding and Press experience preferred
- Forklift Experience preferred
- Welding certification is required
- 3 years of experience welding in manufacturing/job shop environment.
