We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor – Germany and Austria (Maternity Cover) in our London office:

Who You Are

You are a HR Advisor who understands the need to work well with others to achieve Department goals. You lead yourself and others in setting and attaining stretch goals within a continually evolving environment. You think out of the box and continually look for ways to innovate or take existing products, processes and services to a new level. You will be used to working at pace and be able to prioritise your workload effectively. You’ll also need good communication skills to provide excellent and timely advice to ensure cases are closed in line with our expectations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Overseeing the successful day to day running and delivery of the Human Resources function for Germany & Austria. In addition, support will also be required from time to time in our other countries, Denmark, Sweden, UK & Ireland
  • Take a lead role in ensuring local compliance with Human Resources and employment related legislation in line with the client’s strategy, policies, procedures and processes
  • Have strong Employee Relations experience to advise and support managers on staffing issues in the areas of performance management, redundancy, sickness, absence, conduct and capability.; escalating to the HR Business Partner and Snr HR Operations Manager as appropriate
  • Provide first line advice and support to the local team alongside external HR Support teams
  • Keeping up to date with Employment Law and owning any CBA agreements that are  in place.
  • Supporting the HR Administrator on admin tasks, new hires, leavers etc. with payroll processing every month.
  • Providing monthly reports to senior management and investigating any trends.
  • Managing the work permits and right to work for your countries.
  • Ensuring company policies and actions are compliant with local legislations and known in the respective countries by employees and Line Managers
  • Supporting employees with flexible working requests & Family friendly cases.
  • Development, and creation of key HR documents, policies and processes
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance within HR and companywide regarding HR documentation and data
  • Actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes to process and procedure to ensure we continually deliver a great employee experience
  • Support the Business Partners and Snr HR Operations Manager with any ad-hoc projects or assignments

You’ll Need to Have:

  • Strong HR Generalist background working at HR Advisor level
  • A strong level of German Employment Law
  • German language – written and spoken
  • A credible, confident, self-sufficient person who is enthusiastic and thrives building relationships.
  • An individual who is able to manage a heavy workload, prioritise and remain resilient
  • You’ll have experience of employee relations and case management, including knowledge of German employment laws and regulations.
  • You will be experienced in handling sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy, you are comfortable having difficult conversations, working professionally and discreetly with sensitive information
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and HRIS systems, Workday experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail and demonstrate initiative.
  • Payroll experience and T&A system implementation experience will be great plus
