JOB SUMMARY |
This position is responsible for overseeing operations within the warehouse while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and accountability. This position is also responsible for motivating employees by leading as an example for employees to follow. The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the department manager and may also take instructions from the director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the warehouse including but not limited to accurate and efficient picking, packing, shipping and inventorying. Troubleshooting errors at the lowest level is critical. Proficiency is essential for success in this position.
- Primary trainer for all warehouse staff.
- Assists the Manager in achieving warehouse operational objectives as set by the Director by implementing and monitoring production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends.
- Monitors staff performance and progress motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
- Monitors proficiency and accuracy at all times in the following areas but not limited to Picking, Shipping, and Inventory procedures.
- Understands, follows, and enforces the Supply Chain Philosophy. Has a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
- Coordinates inventory transfers with related departments as needed. Replenishes Retail locations and any other entity as directed by immediate management.
- Producing daily attendance reports for all employees. Approve employee time in the payroll system as well as monitor and approve leave. Leave is to be scheduled based on the needs of the organization. Overtime will be approved by the Director only.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Assists the Manager in maintaining the SDS and OSHA regulations. Must not only make sure that employees are regularly briefed, supervised and trained but also that any machinery or vehicles are maintained, upholding health, safety and security in the work place at all times. Enforces the 5S Program. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by organizing floor space, keeping aisle clear of clutter and debris; adhering to storage design principles.

- Keeps stock control systems up to date and makes sure inventories are accurate.
- Reports any facility issues or equipment malfunctions to the Manager.
- Schedules and conducts Inventories and regular Cycle Counts with the Inventory team.
- Required to stay current on all shipping regulations and procedures and ensure that employees are adhering to these changes. Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Ensures the security of the property by developing protection and access policies and procedures, and lock up procedures.
- Orders shipping supplies as needed.
- Keeping stock control systems up to date.
QUALIFICATIONS |
- Knowledge of Netsuite, Microsoft Office, Google Drive preferred
- Skilled in Experience Managing Processes, People Management, Supervision, Data Entry Skills, Data Entry Management, Data Processing, Dependability, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented, Handling Conflict, Safety Management, Maintaining professionalism at all times in the Distribution Center. Strong knowledge of Receiving, Shipping, Warehousing, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices. Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations.
- Abilities needed include a career driven attitude with a desire to grow with the company. Maintains a Positive attitude, is goal driven and focused on the betterment and overall strategic picture of the organization. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Maintain confidentiality as required.
- Associates Degree in Management or Business
- 2-4 years warehousing experience required. 2 years supervisory experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: Standing, walking, lifting, stooping, sitting.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
Monday through Friday weekly and some weekends. Must be flexible to accommodate coverage in the event that a shift lead is out. Work is performed in an operational warehouse environment.
