%3Cp%3EThis position is responsible for the managerial direction and leadership of the department managers (civil, electrical, mechanical and fire protection, structural and architectual) within the Northeast Region Aviation %26amp; Federal Global Practice and will report to the Global Practice Manager. This position will additionally spend a percentage of time remaining engaged in the marketplace by providing business development, business line/project management and technical support to the various business lines.%26nbsp; This position will project our corporate mission and values to our clients and to our employee owners. This position will also provide the leadership needed to grow Burns %26amp; McDonnell interests in a dynamic and profitable manner as well as develop an outstanding reputation amongst clients, competitors and the community. This position will assist in the management of the Northeast Region Aviation %26amp; Federal Global Practice, including the recruitment, development, and retention of staff in collaboration with the business plan goals and requirements. Billable time expectation is 60% minimum.%26nbsp; Specific areas of responsibility include the following, with other duties as assigned by the Global Practice Manager:%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EResponsible for the managerial direction of direct reports.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EWill provide training, guidance, and general direction to direct reports and review performance to ensure efficient and cost-effective utilization.%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EMeet with direct reports on a regular basis and maintain a workload forecast for the global practice.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ESupport Regional Practice Manager and Department Managers in recruiting, hiring, and retention process for office staff per the business plan requirements.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EPerform mid-year and annual performance reviews of direct reports.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAttend global practice staffing and marketing meetings and provide input and reports related to workload, staff utilization, and sales support.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EImplement corporate and office policies, purposes, and goals of the MSP ANF global practice.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist the Regional Practice Manager in developing vision and providing direction through setting A%26amp;F regional office goals and objectives that are in line with and support the business plans and strategies of the Northeast Region and A%26amp;F Division.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist the Regional Practice Manager and business line leads in developing annual business plans and operational goals.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ECreates initiatives to take advantage of market opportunities, reduce operational threats, mitigate business risks, and maximizes core business competencies.%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist Regional Practice Manager in developing and executing short %26amp; long-term strategic plans%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ESupport sales and marketing activities as needed within the MSP ANF global practice.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EParticipate in (and/or facilitate) key go/no-go decisions in cooperation with Northeast Region and Global Practice management.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist in the establishment and achievement of stated targets and standards for financial performance, revenue, billable time, sales and pre-discretionary net income per employee owner.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ERecommend changes in basic structure and organization of the department to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EEnsure quality and safety standards while adhering to Burns %26amp; McDonnell%27s Quality Control program and Burns %26amp; McDonnell%27s Safety program.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ESupport project managers and department managers when required to coordinate team activities for timely responses, submittals, presentations and proposals.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EWill demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgement in anticipating and solving problems.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli class=%22MsoNormal%22 style=%22background: white; vertical-align: middle;%22%3EOther duties as assigned.%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program is required.
  • Minimum 10 years related professional experience.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered; understanding of a multi-faceted business operation; strong financial acumen; demonstrated leadership and management skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees owners, management, and clients.
  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer. 
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Burns & McDonnell business programs (i.e., Ecosys, CRM, etc.). Prior consulting experience is required.
